CSV Image File Renamer - copy, review, reverse map

Have an exact list of new image filenames? This tool copies your PNG/JPEG files into a fresh folder using a CSV map. Review the dry-run first, then apply that unchanged plan. The original files stay in place.

Python 3.10+ and Pillow required. This is local command-line source. Setup instructions include the Pillow installation command.

What a run creates

New files with the chosen names, a count/hash manifest, forward and reverse maps, exceptions report and verified delivery ZIP. Image bytes and metadata are copied intact; there is no resizing or image conversion.

Bounds

One flat folder, 1-100 static PNG/JPG/JPEG files; map every image exactly once. Up to 16 MiB per file, 64 million pixels per image and 512 MiB combined. Safe flat ASCII filenames only; preserve exact extension and case. Unsupported files/folders, missing mappings, collisions and unsafe paths block the plan. Output/report folders must be new and separate from sources. A mid-copy failure can leave partial output labelled FAIL; do not use it as a successful delivery.

Generated reports include your local paths and original metadata: inspect them before sharing. No recursive sorting, automatic naming decisions, retouching or conversion. Try the synthetic sample before your own files.
